Zolder: The Storm Breaks…

219A0690Exactly what fall-out, implications and possible reflections upon the many words written and aired since the term ‘motorised doping’ was first coined may be after the depressing events that overshadowed the CX Worlds of 2016, we do not yet know in anything approaching what I fear to be their entirety. I use the word depressing and, to be honest, I was kind of glad to be away on holiday in the mountains and pretty much out of media range when I caught wind of the breaking news; I’ve seen cycling lurch through numerous cataclysmic events during our sometimes trying 30 year love affair and very little is resolved or even clear in the immediate aftermath…

219A7764As the storm rumbled on, I was pleased to come home to a request to help out with a photo-journal from the Championships for which no axe was required to be ground; simply a preamble to lead into the ever superb work of Flemish cycling snapper Pieter Van Hoorebeke.
