21 year-old Austrian Michael Gogl has found himself catapulted from UCI Continental Tirol Cycling Team into the heart of Tinkoff-Saxo in what is one of the main sponsor’s key races on the calendar, the Post Danmark Rundt. As a Stagiaire, Michael finds himself racing alongside Tinkoff-Saxo’s Danish Classics Big Guns against the full force of the Pro Peloton. Ciclissimo! will be bringing you the daily lowdown from the young racer from Wolfsegg.
Stage 2: Auf Wiedersehen, Jawbreakers..
“It was a long day in the saddle today. Wind and small roads are a perfect recipe for making it uncomfortable out there. Anyways you have to stay concentrated all the time and watch out for road islands, roundabouts etc- and for sure, be always up to date about the race situation.
What a pity… In the final, I was in a small breakaway and turned around to see how big the gap is to the peloton. And just in that moment, my brand new Oakley Jawbreakers flew away from my helmet:
Like yesterday we are again satisfied with the race, and are all looking forward to the queen stage tomorrow, although it’s going to be hard out there again.
